Kinetic River Receives Grant to Further Develop Its Colorado Platform for Automated Autofluorescence Removal

We’re thrilled to share that Kinetic River has been awarded an NIH Phase II SBIR grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). This is our fifth SBIR award from NIH to date.

This $2.5M grant will allow us to continue development and our “Colorado” time-resolved technology to automatically remove autofluorescence background from flow cytometry measurements, facilitating cell analysis. By performing fluorescence measurements in the time domain, the Colorado platform can distinguish autofluorescence background from the signals of fluorescent tags, even when those emissions have completely overlapping spectra.

Thank you to Christopher Bare, Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Pratip Chattopadhyay of Talon Biomarkers, who provided their enthusiastic perspectives on the technology.

Also many thanks to NIGMS and NIH for their continued support.
